Shot Lists

SHOT LIST

PROPOSED FILMING DATE: 16th January

These are the shot lists we created for our trailer. We had to plan out what kind of costumes the actors will be wearing, what equipment we'll be using and the type of shots to film. We mostly needed a camera and tripod for the equipment because we were just filming the shots and there wasn't any props used. We wanted the costumes to look professional so we had to try and copy the pictures we created of the dress code for our characters. We also wanted to use a different variety of shots in our trailer, so we had to plan out which ones to use and that would look good in the trailer.

Purpose of a shot list

What is the purpose of a shot list?

A shot list, a list of every shot in your film from beginning to end. Using a shot list is a great way to improve the planning of your film, as it's an opportunity to sit down and as a group decided what would happen in the shots, therefore this allows us to avoid missing shots.

Risk Assessment

This was the risk assessment that we created before making our trailer. We had to go through all the risks that might happen when filming such as the weather, someone falling over the equipment and keeping everything organised. The risk assessment will help us with what to be careful of with when we are filming and we will use this to make sure that we know exactly what we are doing.

Storyboard

These images are the storyboard which Fariha and Sarah produced. While they were producing this they were inspired by the trailer '50 Shades of Grey' as they wanted to explore the sexual nature and intrigue the audience into wanting to know what was going to happen in the actual film. They had to consider certain scenes such as: sexual scenes that are shown in the trailer, the sexual scenes are increased pace to build up tension as well as excitement for the audience.

Settings

These are some of the locations we have discussed and we have to use for different parts of our trailer. We are going to use my house for one of the locations which is below.

We are using my house for one of our main settings because it looks like a typical teenagers house. It's in a nice area and it fits into "Raven's" parents social class ranking. We wanted our target audience to feel as if they could relate to the settings so we chose places that look like what their house might look like.

My room was perfect for "Raven's" character because it reflected her personality. The room was small and cute and had a typical "girly" mise-en-scene in it, For example, the posters on the wall and the colours of the wall are stereotypical "girly" colours and because they are quite light and there's nothing bold in there, it reflects "Raven's" shy and innocent personality.

Costume Ideas

There are some of the costume ideas we have come up with:

Raven Fair (Sarah)

We want something similar to this for "Raven's" costume. We wanted to resemble something like a school uniform. Instead of a black jumper we might decided to put a school jumper on her but still give her a lanyard to show she is in sixth form. We thought it would be a good idea to put her in a school uniform costume to show the difference in age between the teacher and the student. However, the uniform isn't going to be as strict as a school students to show the difference between the school students and sixth former's. Bearing this in mind, we wanted "Raven's" character to be quite plain to show her shyness and to show audiences how closed and out sided she is to most of her peers.

Tiffany James (Fariha)

As "Tiffany's" character is "Raven's" friend and they are classmates, we needed her costume to be very similar to "Raven's". However, her personality is a bit more bolder and she's much more open than "Raven" so we wanted to dress her a little bit different. She will still have the black skirt, white shirt and school jumper, but we have put her in a leather jacket and leather boots instead to show the more edgy side of her. We purposely put a red scarf on as red is a symbol for danger and as the audience watches our trailer they will learn that she is a very dangerous and ruthless character. If we decide to put other costumes on her, we will make sure there are little bits of red to carry on the presentation.

Daniel Grey (Mufaro)

As "Mr. Daniel Grey" is a teacher his costume will be a suit. Later on in the trailer we might have him in a shirt and jeans but he will dress more formally than both of the other characters to show the age difference them and to show the power difference.

Final Casting

We have decided to use Sarah who will be playing as "Raven Rosalinda Fair" who is our female protagonist. We think she will be great for this part because as she has an innocent look about her. We are going to dress her in uniform because she looks older than we want her to be and we want to show the little age difference between her and the teacher.

To play the teacher "Daniel Grey" we have chosen Mufaro Shambare. We have chosen him because he completely challenges the male protagonist stereotype. As he is a drama student we thought he'd be able to bring our preferred reading to the audience.

To play "Tiffany James", "Raven's" best friend, we have chosen Fariha Khan as the group thinks that she would be able to play the part effectively.
