Audience Feedback on Magazine

This is the audience feedback for the magazine and again Fariha has recorded the feedback down on paper and then taken a picture to put on our blogs. She has asked the same people who looked at our poster, to feedback on our magazine. I am going to write down the feedback underneath just in case the writing in the picture is hard to see.

Audience Feedback

Shani- Layout is good, colours match her dress
-Background colours doesn't match

Louisa- The left third is good
- Can't read the bottom text very well

Toby- Editing is good, the masthead is good
- Less writing

Shingi- Layout is good and the picture
- No use of different fonts, background colour can change

Harry- Colour scheme is good
-Background looks weird

Chloe- The picture matches the genre
-Background is weird

They all liked our magazine, but there was more improvements. They all had different views for what could be improved and we will use their feedback to make improvements for our magazine. Overall there wasn't as many positive views for our magazine, compared to our poster. We hope after these improvements have been made that our magazine will look better and our target audience will like it.
The audience feedback has really helped us and we now know what we need to do to make it more appealing.

Audience Feedback on Poster

This picture is the audience feedback Fariha got from our friends for our poster. She decided to write it down on paper and then show it by taking a picture. I am going to write the feedback underneath as well just in case the writing in the picture is a bit hard to see.

Audience Feedback:

Shani- Really good, stuck with the colours of a romance film
 - Needs a star rating and maybe a quote

Louisa- The image is good, can tell the genre, the colour scheme is good
- Age rating could be bigger

Toby- The titles bold and eye-catching, the pictures fascinating
-Maybe put in a background

Shingi- Basically perfect, layout is good and the colour scheme
- Names could be smaller

Harry- Not racist, title relates to the picture
-Top bit could be pinker

Chloe- Looks like a real advertisement, doesn't look fake
-No improvements

Everyone who she asked liked our poster and all had something different to say about it. She also asked them if they thought there could be any improvements to the poster. She also wrote down what they thought could be improved. Overall it was a positive response and we will take their feedback into account and work on what can be improved. We feel that the feedback helped us a lot and we will use this to improve our poster.

First Draft of Magazine Cover

Fariha did the research of the magazine cover and ended up doing the first draft while we worked on editing the trailer. We were running out of time so we thought this was the best decision because we wouldn't have had enough time to finish everything by the deadline.

We decided to call our magazine cover "FUSION" because it's the same as our production company. By doing this, we emphasized the fact our film was done by a big production company that can afford to have it's own magazine.

We had a bit of Mufaro's head covering the title as it will be a well known title that everyone can recognise.

This is the first draft of our magazine cover. Fariha kept the colour scheme quite plain but wanted to match it to the colour of her dress. The main image of the magazine cover makes Mufaro's character look more dominant then Sarah's as he has both hands around her as if he's protecting her. The direct code of address from Mufaro's character is quite strong making him look like he has a lot of powers but Sarah's expression looks almost scared.

The main article featuring on the magazine cover:

By putting "their" it makes the cover seem more personal and would make readers want to know more about them. Similarly, we underlines and highlighted "Dirty" to imply they will be spilling all their "naughty" secrets so readers would be more intrigued. It all goes along with the theme of our film as the relationship between the teacher and sixth form student is deemed wrong and "dirty".

First Draft of the Poster

Even though Sarah did the research and planning for film posters, Fariha made the film poster while me and Celyn worked on the finished the editing for the trailer. She was able to do this as Sarah's research enabled her to understand the codes and conventions of romantic drama film posters. We made this decision as our deadline was soon as we didn't give ourselves enough time to be able to finish all of it as a group.

This is the title and the release date I put on the poster. Making the title fit in with the films genre was a struggle as I couldn't find the right colours. However, in the logo-studio in Serif PagePlus X7 where I made the poster. I was able to mix colours to give it almost a mystical look; but by adding in a harsh black shadow and outline, I still managed to keep it a bit more serious to add to the drama aspect of the movie.

This is the first draft of the poster. The image we decided to use is effective because of the way she's holding his tie. It highlights the romantic lust in the movie as it implies she "wants him" Fariha added the white fog to the bottom on a site called IPiccy as it allowed her to overlay the hard colours at the bottom of the original picture so the title, release date, small print and logo would be more visible.

Codes and Conventions of film posters

Sarah has created a prezi, explaining all the codes and conventions of movie posters and with examples.

Analysis of Movie Posters

The main purpose of the poster, shows a photograph or a shot from the film, portraying the two characters intimate relationship. This is the unique selling point as well as focus of a romance film is the relationship between the characters.

The most predominant character is the female protagonist- This is referring back to the target audience mainly being a female audience. Furthermore often the male characters n the shot to show the character's relationship- the women is the main focus in the shot.
